With „Dirndl“ and „Lederhosen“, but also with Kilt or Kimono: The field of runners in the International Costume Run is becoming more international every year. Six days after the end of the Munich Oktoberfest, the suitability of the various national costumes will be tested for competition.

The International Costume Run as part of the GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON takes place on an 3 kilometer long course through the Munich Olympic Park in the country’s typical costume.

The International Costume Run is the ideal opportunity to jog comfortably through the Olympic Park with the traditional costume club, family, friends or colleagues – and to present your own traditional costume to the public. After the run, runners can expect a Bavarian breakfast.

Registration & Fees

There are two options for registering for the International Costume Run:

When registering for the competition at the GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON 2024, select the International Costume Run or register separately for the International Costume Run. Late registration is open from October 6th to October 12th, 2024.

Fees:

Registration by March 31, 2024: 22 euros*
Registration from April 1st – June 30, 2024: 24 euros*
Registration from July 1st – September 29, 2024: 26 euros*
Late registration from 06.10. – October 12, 2024: 29 euros*

The entry fee includes the bib number and a voucher for the Weißwurst breakfast with non-alcoholic wheat beer from the Weihenstephan State Brewery.
Bib number and pick up

The bib numbers for the International Costume Run will be issued on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 10:00 to 18:00 and on Saturday, October 12, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the bib number distribution point in the Business Area in the large Olympic Hall.
Start and finish

The go-ahead will take place on Saturday, October 12th, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. The start and finish are at Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz in the Olympic Park, right next to the large Olympic Hall.
Course

The 3 kilometer running course runs in the Olympic Park.
Timekeeping & Medal

There is no timekeeping at the International Costume Run.

Every runner receives a gingerbread heart at the finish as a small recognition.
Bavarian breakfast

After the run there will be a Bavarian breakfast (a pair of Weißwurst, a pretzel and a non-alcoholic wheat beer from the Weihenstephan State Brewery). The voucher will be issued together with the bib number.
