THE MUNICH HALF MARATHON
HALF THE DISTANCE AND STILL FULL THROTTLE
The start could hardly be more beautiful, because the race starts with a lot of Munich feeling and a lot of Bavarian flair, at the Chinese Tower. The start is at 12:30 pm, so that runners with a final time around 3:00 hours can easily finish the distance.
The running course is the second part of the original marathon course, through the east of Munich past famous landmarks of the Munich city center and with the grand finale: the Olympic Stadium.
Music and the cheering crowd – the finish and the last meters in the stadium are simply unforgettable! And then, with a perfect feeling and a broad winner’s grin, it’s time to say: G’schafft!
You’ll start in the English Garden at the Chinese Tower. Traditional brass band music plays from the tower, and with a bit of luck you can still hear it at the start
The route crosses the ISAR and leads through the districts of Bogenhausen, Denning and Berg-am-Laim in the EAST of MUNICH
HAIDHAUSEN is one of the trendiest districts in Munich. The route leads back to the city center past the GASTEIG and the GERMAN MUSEUM
One SIGHT after the next follows. Since 2019, the marathon route has led through the VIKTUALIENMARKT and the heart of Munich – the MARIENPLATZ
One of the most important landmarks in Munich is located in the middle of the old town – the ODEONSPLATZ. On the Odeonsplatz are well-known buildings such as the Feldherrnhalle, the Residenz palace and the Theatinerkirche
Leopoldstrasse and Ludwigstrasse are known as boulevards.
Running through the heart of Schwabing. ELISABETHPLATZ and ELISABETHSTRASSE were named in 1898 after Empress Elisabeth of Austria, better known as Sisi
You did it! The finish through the marathon gate in the MUNICH OLYMPIC STADIUM is legendary and you will never forget it
