Key Facts
Enjoy the GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON halfway through the course. The starting location is in the English Garden and has a special flair. From kilometre 21 onwards, you will find many highlights on the marathon route. Run in through the marathon gate included!

For all those who are looking for an easy introduction into the GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON, we offer the 10 KM run over the first and last 5 kilometres of the marathon course. From the Olympic Park through Schwabing to the Siegestor and back with a finish in the Olympic Stadium.

VIRTUAL RUN GMM
Key Facts
Since 2020, the VIRTUAL RUN GMM has been the virtual edition of the GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON and was a massive success straight away. The starting signal will be given at 10:00 a.m. on 10.10.2021. Afterwards, you have two months to complete the distance wherever and whenever you want. Use our app or any running watch/tracker with GPS function.

Competitions: Marathon, Half-marathon and 10 KM

Key Facts
Kids watch out! At the 2.1-kilometre mini-marathon, you’ll be at the start just like the grown-ups. The course in the Olympic Park runs along the first and last kilometres of the marathon course. Just like the big ones, the run into the Olympic Stadium will make every child’s dream come true. All participants in the BLV e.V.’s school campaign “Lauf-dich-fit”. (https://blv-sport.de) will start free of charge.

COSTUME RUN - FRIENDSHIP RUN
Key Facts
The International „costume“ Trachtenlauf – Friendship run on Saturday will take you on a 3.5-kilometre route through the Olympic Park in traditional costumes typical from the Bavarian region. You can book your starting place directly in the registration process.

Which way would you like to receive your starter package for the 35th GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON? Choose between collecting your starter pack in person or receiving it by post:
- The starter pack will be given out during the week of the event by 09.10.2021 at the latest. The place of pick-up is in Munich and will be announced in advance. The collection of the start number is free of charge and possible in person or by an authorised person.
- The starter package will be sent to an address of your choice. We will send the start number up to approx. 10 days before the event within Germany for 6.50 EUR, Europe-wide for 8.50 EUR and worldwide for 11.50 EUR.
Preferred bib number

Customise your race number with a personalised number of your choice.

Reserve your favourite or lucky number from the start number contingent for 6.00 EUR.
Official RUNNING SHIRT from UYN

Order the OFFICIAL GMM RUNNING SHIRT 2021 from our co-sponsor and outfitter UYN in advance at the special price of 40.00 EUR (RRP 69.00 EUR). The shirt will be handed out together with the starter pack.

Medal engraving

Every finisher will receive a medal at the finish.

Engraving with name and time is possible on Sunday in the Olympic Stadium on level 0 (north side). You can buy the engraving on the day for 11.50 EUR or order it directly at the application for the special price of 10.00 EUR.

The GMM wristband for 6,00 EUR is a sporty-cool accessory. The entire proceeds will be donated 100% to the charitable MUNICH MARATHON Foundation, which supports the school project “Lauf-dich-fit” of the Bavarian Athletics Association (BLV e.V.).

Cancellation insurance

The start place cancellation insurance is the insurance of the organisation amount if you cannot start due to illness or injury as well as pregnancy or private or professional events. The contents of the benefits can be found in the insurance description.

The GENERALI STARTCLEANING INSURANCE is handled by Europ Assistance SA, Branch Office for Germany. Booked additional services are excluded from the insurance.

No matter if you start individually or together in a 4-person marathon relay – everyone has a finishing line with an entry into the Olympic Stadium in Munich. The team stands on level 0 or directly at the finish line are ideal meeting and get-together points.

Teams register for the 35th GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON online via the website. Payment by invoice is possible for teams of 5 or more persons/teams.

RIGHT OF REVOCATION/TRANSFER

Information for registration

After successful registration there is no claim pursuant to Section 312g (9) BGB (German Civil Code) to reimbursement of the organisation fee or to transfer of the starting place to another person.

Participants have the option of taking out insurance for the eventuality that they are unable to take part in the event. Details can be found in the insurance conditions of the German branch of Europ Assistance SA.
Participants who do not want to endanger their health should undergo a sports medical check-up once a year. In addition, you should pay attention to warning signals of your body during the run and, if necessary, stop the run. Please do not start a run without medical advice if you have a current infection or ailment. This recommendation applies to all distances and disciplines
The participation by using racing wheelchairs or other comparable sports equipment is not allowed.
In case of cancellation or termination of the real run, a starting place for the VIRTUAL RUN GMM with medal shipment will be provided by the organiser as a substitute service. The payment of the organiser’s fee for this service will be 28,00 EUR incl. VAT for single registrations and 112,00 EUR incl. VAT for relay registrations (not refunded).
Possible up- and downgrades until 26 September 2021:
- Downgrade: You can get a FREE downgrade until closing date. Refunds for the price difference will not be granted.
- Upgrade: You can get an upgrade at your own expense until closing date. 8.00 EUR service charge + difference between the two registration fees.

In case of cancellation of the real run, the organiser will provide a starting place for the VIRTUAL RUN GMM with medal shipment as a substitute service. The provision of the service will be taken into account in the reimbursement of the organiser’s fee with 28.00 EUR incl. VAT for individual registrations and 112.00 EUR incl. VAT for relay registrations (not refunded).
