Costume run „Trachtenlauf“
Dirndl, kilt or kimono: the field of participants in the traditional costume race is becoming more international every year. Six days after the end of the Munich Oktoberfest, the suitability of the various national costumes for competition is tested.
Wearing traditional costumes typical of the country, the International Traditional Costume Run as part of the GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON will take place over a distance of about 3.5 kilometres through the Munich Olympic Park.
The Trachtenlauf is the ideal opportunity to jog through the Olympic Park with the Trachten Club, family, friends or colleagues – and to present your own costume to the public. After the run the participants can expect a Bavarian breakfast.
The bib numbers for the traditional costume run will be issued from 09:00 a.m. in the Great Olympic Hall (access via west entrance) on presentation of the confirmation of registration.
Start and finish
The start will be on Saturday, 09.10.2021 at 10:30 a.m. This year the start and finish will be at Coubertinplatz in the Olympiapark. There will be no timekeeping at the traditional costume race.
The Bavarian breakfast (a pair of Weißwürste, a pretzel and a non-alcoholic wheat beer) will also take place in the arena of the Great Olympic Hall. The voucher will be issued together with the starting number.
