International top-class athletes at the GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON

The starting field of the GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON is particularly strong this year. Top international runners and world-class athletes will be chasing records in Munich. The two women Agnes Keino from Kenya (2:25:08 hours marathon in Copenhagen) and Aberu Mekurioa from Ethiopia (2:24:30 hours personal best) certainly belong to the absolute world elite.

The men’s elite field is also top-class. The elite 10,000 meter runner Vincent Kiprotich (Kenya) will celebrate his marathon debut in Munich. Experienced top runners Mengistu Zelalem (2:08:48 hours) of Ethiopia and Edwin Kimaiyo (2:09:12) of Kenya will join the debutant to form a powerful top trio, which will be further expanded with former junior world champion over the 5,000 and 10,000 meters Josphat Kipkoech of Kenya. He finished third at the Eldoret Marathon with a fabulous time of 2:13:58 hours, at an altitude of 2,100 meters above sea level.

We are curious to see if new course records can be set this year!
