German Marathon Championships at short notice in Munich
The German Marathon Championships, originally planned for mid-April in Hanover, will now take place at short notice on Sunday, 10 October 2021, as part of the GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON.
The long phase of uncertainty as to what form the GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON 2021 would take has fortunately come to an end. We are very much looking forward to the comeback on 10 October and the challenge of being able to host the German Marathon Championships at short notice within this framework. We thank the DLV and our Bavarian regional association, the BLV, for their trust. We would also like to thank our colleagues from Hanover for spontaneously agreeing to host the German Marathon Championships in spring after the cancellation due to the pandemic. Registration for the German Marathon Championships is possible online until 05.10.2021.
The start for the German Marathon Championships will be at 9am. The start and finish will be in the Munich Olympic Stadium. Two laps will be run.
Prize Money
The organisers are offering attractive prize money for the fastest ten Germans (female and male). A total of almost 24,000 euros will be paid to the ten best women and men over the marathon distance.
The prerequisite for payment is a German start passport and a finish time of less than 2:40.00 hours for the women and 2:25.00 hours for the men.
