GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON AGAIN BEARER OF THE ROAD RACE LABEL

In 2021, the GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON is once again pleased to have been awarded the Road Race Label of the international athletics association World Athletics.

For the year 2021, World Athletics has presented a slimmed-down format regarding the regulations for its road race series “Label Road Races”. Thus, there are three awards this year: the World Athletics Label, the World Athletics Elite Label and the World Athletics Elite Platinum Label.

The Road Race Label identifies, among other things, high standards in event organization, application of the World Athletics Competition Rules, support of the event by the authorities and a financial commitment to the fight against doping.

“To carry the Road Race label again makes us proud. We are confident that we will be able to hold the GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON this year and we see the label as an award that recognizes our efforts over the years, which of course means a lot to us. It also drives us to keep going even in these uncertain times,” said Gernot Weigl, Managing Director of MÜNCHEN MARATHON GmbH.
