Are you aiming for the GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON on 14 October? Perfect. Under the banner of MUNICH TRAINS, we’re laying on a whole load of great training opportunities for you over the coming months. Our coaches will unleash your full potential and provide just the support each participant needs.

Our objective: To improve your fitness for the GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON, whether you’re preparing for the 10km run, the half-marathon or the main event – the marathon itself.

GMM training sessions

Free running training with Bianca Meyer, the winner of last year’s GMM, and personal trainers Kathrin Messer and Luisa Semmler.

12/07/2018 – track training

Content: Track training with Bianca Meyer, focus on technique and pace / cool-down fascia training and stretching with Luisa Semmler and Kathrin Messer. Our track training at the municipal school sports complex on Sachsenstraße 2 in München-Giesing focuses on your fitness. Whether you're tackling the 10km run, the half-marathon or the full marathon, speed training will help you get a step closer to achieving your goals for the GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON 2018, while also enhancing your own approach to running.

Bianca Meyer, a professional runner and winner of the Munich Marathon in 2017, shows your how to put together a speed unit in around an hour and a half. Meyer, who owns the RUNNING Company running school leads you around the tartan track and gives useful tips on correct running techniques and good style. In addition, you will learn how to increase your pace and find out about exercises that build strength and drive.

Content: Tailored stress regulation and nutritional guidance for sportspeople. The participants determine which topics are to be covered by filling in a Facebook survey. There is a choice of four topics (see below).

06.09. - 09.09.2018 – Running weekend in Livigno (Lombardy, ITA)

Overnight stay in a 4* hotel with pool, wellness centre, sun terrace and half board (including mineral water)

Running training in small groups along a range of different mountain paths around Livigno

Customised video running style analysis and technique training (running ABC, coordination training)

Strength and functional training for runners

Interesting talks on running theory (e.g. trail running, technique)

30/09/2018 – Long run to Munich

One training session that should not be missing in any marathon or half marathon preparation is the long run. Take part in our official long run from the Munich Airport to the city centre and click here to register.

The course runs along the river Isar and has several exit points at 18, 25 and 30k. The maximum distance is 33k, ending at the Chinese Tower.

The various pace groups (4.30 – 5.00, 5.00 – 5.30, 5.30 – 6.00, 6.00 – 6.30, 6.30 – 7.00) are accompanied by experienced coaches of the RUNNING COMPANY. The maximum running time per group is 3 hours.

The long run is presented by the Munich Airport, which organises shuttles to the start at the airport as well as from the exit points to the finish at the Chinese Tower.  In addition, you will have the opportunity to try the Optimum Nutrition products at the refreshment stations that will also await you at this year’s GMM.

Participation is free of charge for all participants of the GMM 2018.

Online registration is possible until Septemer 23rd.

Shuttles to the airport: from 8 a.m.

Start of the run: 9.30 a.m.

Starting location: Munich Airport, Nordallee 25

Families of the participants can look forward to a visit to the zoo Hellabrunn.

The limited tickets will be provided by the Munich Airport.
