General Informations
How can I register?
Registration for the GENERALI MÜNCHEN MARATHON 2024 is open until Sunday, 29th September 2024, 11:59 pm.
Starting places are currently not limited. Late registration will be available on the GMM website from 6th to 12th October 2024.
How can I request an invoice for my registration?
Receipts for private individuals and for companies can be requested via run@generalimuenchenmarathon.de.
How/where do I get a new confirmation of registration if I have lost it?
If you lost your registration confirmation, it can be requested again via run@generalimuenchenmarathon.de
Until when is a late registration possible?
Late registration is available on our website from 6th October (00:00 am) to 12th October 2024 (5:30 pm).
Who can take part?
All runners with an official and valid bib number are eligible to participate.
Registration for the marathon is possible from the age of 18. With a confirmation from the parents, participants aged 17 and over can also register for the race. Participation in the half marathon is possible from the age of 16 and from the age of 14 for the 10K run.
Is there any GMM merchandising available and where can I buy it?
Get your official and limited edition GMM running shirt in the GMM online shop.
The quality speaks for itself: the shirt is soft, light and quick-drying thanks to the ‘cool dry’ functional fabric. Our official running shirt is available in bordeaux and white for women and bordeaux and black for men.
Where can I pick up my GMM running shirt?
You can pick up your GMM Running Shirt at the following times in the Business Area in the Olympic Hall (Olympic Park Munich):

Is there an official sports fair?
GMM Village – The official sports fair of the GENERALI MÜNCHEN MARATHON.
Experience running. Discover trends. Hunt for bargains. From 11th to 13th October 2024, you will once again find everything a runner’s heart desires on around 3,000 square metres in the Olympic Hall: running shoes, trendy outfits, training aids, sports nutrition and running trips. You can even find a running bargain or two here.
How can I help to protect the environment?
Please dispose of used cups and waste at the refreshment stations in the rubbish bins provided. The rubbish bins are located directly after the stations along the course. In the finish area in the Olympic Park (Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz) we also ask you to dispose of waste in the rubbish bins provided.
To be able to reuse the reusable cups in the finish catering area, please return the cups at the exit of the finish catering area and throw them into the separate containers. There are return stations for warm blankets in Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz at the start/finish area.
Our environment is very important to us. We contribute to climate protection with a variety of measures and are committed to an environmentally friendly major sporting event. You can help too! We recommend that all runners travel by public transport.

Who can I contact if I have lost an item?
All lost items will be handed in at the Infopoint in the Olympic Hall and can be picked up there.
Before the run
Where and how do I get my starter pack (race kit) and my starting documents?
The starter pack can be collected from the Business Area in the Olympic Hall at the following times:
Friday, 11th October 2024 | 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Saturday, 12th October 2024 | 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Sunday, 13th October 2024 | 7:00 am to 8:30 am (marathon, marathon relay, 10K run) & 10:00 am to 11:30 am (half marathon)
What do I need to consider when using my bib number?
Please attach your bib number with the enclosed safety pins so that it is clearly visible at chest height. Participants in the marathon relay must also attach the back number provided in the starter pack to their back. Altering or covering the lettering and sponsor logos is not permitted and will result in disqualification.
Anyone running without a bib number will be removed from the course by the event organisers.Only participants with the official GMM 2024 bib number are permitted to start. The RFID transponder for timekeeping is integrated into the bib number. This is located on the back of the bib number.
It is not necessary to return the bib number after the event.
Can somebody else pick up my starter kit for me?
The starter pack can be collected in person or by an authorized individual (private power of attorney + ID document of the authorized person).
For a power of attorney, a document signed by yourself with your personal details (name, etc.) and those of the authorized person is all you need. The authorized representative also needs a valid photo ID.

Where can I change?
For the marathon as well as for the relay race and the 10K run, changing rooms are available in the Olympic Park.
For participants of the half marathon there are changing possibilities in the English Garden, entrance Königinstraße.
Can I cancel my participation if I get sick?
If you are unable to attend for private or health reasons, we offer you the starting place cancellation insurance from Europ Assistance SA. You can book this as an additional service when you register. A refund of the participation charge is unfortunately not possible without starting pace cancellation insurance.
How can I get to the GMM?

7:30 am – 10:00 am (every 10 minutes between Sendlinger Tor and Olympiazentrum)
Tram 20/21 | Station ‘Olympia Park West’

Arrival by car
Approach the Olympic site from all directions (A8, A9, A92, A94, A96 and A99) via the Mittlerer Ring.
Follow the signs for ‘Olympiapark’. Limited parking spaces are available in the Parkharfe car park on the Sapporobogen. The car parks are subject to charges according to the Munich Olympic Park‘s scale of charges: EUR 8.00 per day for cars and EUR 25.00 for buses and camper vans. Waiting times can be avoided if the parking fee is counted and kept ready.
Half marathon:

12:00 am – 6:30 pm (every 5 minutes between Sendlinger Tor and Giselastraße)
Arrival by car
Arrival by car is not possible! There are no parking spaces available at the starting area of the half marathon. You can only get there by public transport (MVV).
Until when can I change/adapt my participant information before the run?
Due to our registration deadline on Sunday 29th September 2024, no more changes are possible after this date.
On the competition day
What happens in case of bad weather conditions?
The GENERALI MÜNCHEN MARATHON will take place regardless of the current weather conditions on the Sunday of the marathon. The event will only be cancelled if environmental conditions make it impossible to run the race safely.
How will medical care be provided during the race?
For acute medical emergencies, the Bavarian Red Cross will be available in the Olympic Park and along the course.
In an emergency, please call the emergency number 112.
Don’t look away – anyone can help in case of emergency. The most important thing: offer your help and call the emergency number! The five W-questions are essential information for the emergency services: Where did something happen? Who is calling? What has happened? How many people are involved? Wait for a response.
Which requirements must be observed during the run?
The passage times on the course must be strictly adhered to and will be indicated by a final vehicle.
The period of the event is limited in time and the road closures on the running course only exist within the specified race times. Participants who exceed the time limit on the running course will be warned to stop the race immediately and directed to the pavement.
How does time record work?
Timekeeping at the GENERALI MÜNCHEN MARATHON is carried out exclusively via the RFID transponder in the personal bib number.
The exception is the marathon relay: here the RFID transponder is in the relay baton. Please attach the race number with safety pins at chest height. No further transponders are needed. Finishers who cross the start and finish line and all the control mats laid out on the course will be counted according to the net time (effective running time).
Use the live data on www.generalimuenchenmarathon.de/en to keep your friends and family up to date with your race. The live tracking will be available on Sunday, 13 October 2024.
What catering options are offered during the run?
There will be supply stations at the kilometer points KM 10 / KM 13 / KM 20 / KM 26.5 / KM 31.5 / KM 37 and KM 39. In addition to mineral water, energy bars, bananas and electrolyte drinks will be offered at the supply stations.
In addition to the supply stations, there are also refreshment points with mineral water at KM 4.5 / KM 8.5 / KM 16.5 / KM 23.5 / KM 29 / KM 33 and KM 36.
Is there an opportunity for self-supply / self-catering?
Runners with a finish time of up to 3:30 hours or those who require individual catering for medical reasons / allergies can bring their own drinks (only in plastic bottles!). The bottles must be labelled with the kilometre point of the supply station or refreshment point and the bib number.
You can hand in your own refreshments at the infopoint in the Olympic Hall on Saturday, 12th October 2024 from 10 am to 6 pm and on Sunday, 13th October 2024 from 7 am to 7.30 am. The organiser accepts no liability for loss or damage. Self-catering will be deposited on a separate table at the beginning of the catering stations (only on the right).
What are the start pages of the individual competitions?
Start Marathon and 10K Run:

Where can I drop off my luggage on the day of the competition?
The clothing drop-off point is in the Olympic Hall on the Sunday of the marathon.
Please only use the GMM sports bag, which will be issued with your bib number, to hand in your clothes. Please mark your bib number clearly on your GMM sports bag.
For other sports bags or larger items of luggage, we offer a cloakroom for a fee (€ 5 per bag) at the Infopoint. After the race, you can pick up your GMM sports bag until 4:00 pm on presentation of your bib number.
Are there pacemakers for the individual disciplines on the day of the competition?
The following pacemakers will be in action for the marathon:
03:00 hrs, 03:15 hrs, 03:30 hrs, 03:45 hrs, 04:00 hrs, 04:15 hrs, 04:30 hrs, 04:45 hrs, 05:00 hrs
The following pacemakers will be in action for the half marathon:
01:30 hrs, 01:45 hrs, 02:00 hrs, 02:15 hrs, 02:30 hrs.
The following pacemakers will be in action for the 10K Run:
00:50 hrs, 00:55 hrs, 01:00 hrs.
After the run
How and where can I get my certificate?
The certificates will be available for download and printing on the day of the event from approx. 7:00 pm at www.generalimuenchenmarathon.de/en.
Certificates will not be sent by post.
Where can I have my medal engraved?
The medals can be engraved on the back with name and the finishing time achieved.
The medal engraving centre is in the Olympic Hall.
You can buy the engraving on site for 18 euros or redeem your voucher. Pre-ordered vouchers will be issued with the bib number.
When will the results be available?
The results lists and certificates will be available on the day of the event from around 7:00 pm at www.generalimuenchenmarathon.de/en
Where can I shower and change after my run?
After the run, changing rooms and showers will be available free of charge for all participants in the Olympic Swimming Hall from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The bib number is valid as an access pass to the service area.
Where can I get medical / physiotherapy treatment after the run?
After the run, 60 physiotherapists will be available in the Olympic Swimming Hall. For reasons of hygiene, we ask you to shower beforehand.
The physio area will be available until 5:00 pm on Sunday.
How do I get my photo from the GMM2024?
24 hours after the GMM2024 you can view and purchase your personal souvenir photo or video at www.marathonphotos.live.
When will the medals be awarded?
10 KM run: 10:45 am
Marathon: 12:00 pm
Marathon relay: 12:20 pm
Half Marathon: 2:15 pm
