Marathon Relay

Teamplay at it´s best!

The four runners share the 42.195-kilometer course as a team and conquer it together. Each runner can choose the distance that suits them best. Due to renovation work in the Olympic Stadium, this year the start and finish will be at Hans-Jochen-Vogel Platz directly next to the Olympic Hall. At kilometer 41, all runners can come together and cover the last meters as a team. This way, all four runners will receive their finisher medals together and enjoy their shared success.

The teams that properly cross the start and finish lines as well as all control mats laid out on the course will be evaluated according to the net time (effective running time). Classification is also based on women/men/mixed relay.

16
Run safe | First aid

Don’t look away – anyone can help in an emergency. The most important thing: offer help and dial the emergency number! For acute medical emergencies, the Bavarian Red Cross will be available in the Olympic Park and along the course. In an emergency, please dial the emergency number 112. Important information for the emergency services are the five W questions: Where has something happened? Who is calling? What has happened? How many people affected? Wait for a response.

17
Your health

Runners who do not want to jeopardise their health should have a sports medical examination once a year. In addition, you should pay attention to your body’s warning signals during the run and stop your run if necessary. If you have acute infections or complaints, we strongly advise you not to start. If you are unsure about this, be sure to consult a doctor for advice. This recommendation applies to all distances and disciplines.

18
Environment & Waste Management

The environment is very important to us. We contribute to climate protection in a variety of ways and are committed to delivering an environmentally friendly major sporting event. You can help too! We encourage all runners to travel to the event by public transport. The Olympic Park and the English Garden (Chinese Tower) are easily accessible by public transport (MVV). There will be warm blanket drop-off points at Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz at the start/finish area. Thank you for your support!

Please dispose of used cups and litter at the refreshment points in the bins provided. The bins will be located immediately after each aid station along the course. At the finish area in the Olympiapark (Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz), please dispose of your waste in the bins provided. In order to be able to reuse the reusable cups in the finish catering area, please return the cups at the exit of the finish catering area and dispose of them in the separate containers.
