Half Marathon
Half the distance, full experience
The start could hardly be nicer, because it comes up with a lot of Munich feeling and lots of Bavarian flair in the English Garden at the Chinese Tower. The race begins at 12:30 p.m., so runners with a finish time of 03:00 hours can easily finish the distance.
The running course is the second part of the marathon course, through the east of Munich past famous landmarks in downtown Munich and ending at the Munich Olympic Park.

Start times and starting area
The half marathon starts in the English Garden, near the Chinese Tower between Tivolistraße and Königstraße. The start will take place in several starting groups from 12:30 p.m. The start times will be announced later. Only runners with an official bib number are allowed to enter the starting area. The start time is marked on the bib number. All textiles left in the starting area will be collected. Textiles will not be returned.

The finish is the Olympic Park in Munich. Due to the renovation work in the Olympic Stadium, the finish is at Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz (formerly Coubertinplatz). The finish line is at 3:40 p.m. The throughput times on the running course must be adhered to and will be displayed by a final vehicle. Runners who exceed the time limit on the running course will be asked to continue the race on the sidewalks.

Run safe | First aid
Don’t look away – anyone can help in an emergency. The most important thing: offer help and dial the emergency number! For acute medical emergencies, the Bavarian Red Cross will be available in the Olympic Park and along the course. In an emergency, please dial the emergency number 112. Important information for the emergency services are the five W questions: Where has something happened? Who is calling? What has happened? How many people affected? Wait for a response.
Your health
Runners who do not want to jeopardise their health should have a sports medical examination once a year. In addition, you should pay attention to your body’s warning signals during the run and stop your run if necessary. If you have acute infections or complaints, we strongly advise you not to start. If you are unsure about this, be sure to consult a doctor for advice. This recommendation applies to all distances and disciplines.
Environment & Waste Management
The environment is very important to us. We contribute to climate protection in a variety of ways and are committed to delivering an environmentally friendly major sporting event. You can help too! We encourage all runners to travel to the event by public transport. The Olympic Park and the English Garden (Chinese Tower) are easily accessible by public transport (MVV). There will be warm blanket drop-off points at Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz at the start/finish area. Thank you for your support!
Please dispose of used cups and litter at the refreshment points in the bins provided. The bins will be located immediately after each aid station along the course. At the finish area in the Olympiapark (Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz), please dispose of your waste in the bins provided. In order to be able to reuse the reusable cups in the finish catering area, please return the cups at the exit of the finish catering area and dispose of them in the separate containers.
